The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan announced nearly $19 million in grants to organizations and initiatives primarily within southeast Michigan’s seven counties in areas including health, education, the arts, environment, youth and housing, and human services.
“From support for music education to a learning program in Detroit laundromats and a counseling program for people affected by dementia, our goal is to create permanent, positive change for residents in southeast Michigan,” said Mariam C. Noland, President, Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. “We accomplish this by partnering with communities, nonprofits, foundations, and stakeholders to implement solutions to complex issues.”

Prudential Financial has announced a commitment of more than $180 million to support "opportunity youth" gain the skills they need to compete for and succeed in quality jobs. According to Prudential, the commitment, which extends through 2025, is the largest ever private-sector investment in opportunity youth, who number some three hundred and fifty million worldwide.

The Epilepsy Innovation Institute (Ei2 ) is pleased to announce a Request for Proposals for the My Brain Map initiative to fund pilot studies that would propose novel exploratory ways to model seizure propagation in a personalized brain network model. The ultimate end-goal is to create a user-friendly data visualization tool for seizure propagation personalized to the individual’s brain network. This request for proposals will be used to fund the preliminary exploratory work needed to develop a prototype visualization tool.
Eligibility: Principal investigators must hold a full-time faculty appointment at the level of assistant professor or above at an academic, nonprofit research institution, or at an industry organization whose primary mission includes medical research, either in or outside the United States.
