As a means to prepare teens for the tech-reliant jobs of the future, The Best Buy Foundation will provide funding to equitable, innovative, impact-driven programs in eligible nonprofit organizations committed to enhancing the lives of teens 13 – 18 years old through cutting edge technology enabled curricula. Programs should include hands-on learning opportunities that lead to skill development and engage the youth in experimenting and interacting with the latest technologies to close the digital skills gap.

Juneau Community Foundation Awards More Than $1.8 Million In Grants

The Juneau Community Foundation has awarded more than $1.8 million in grants to local nonprofit organizations following several months of coordinated effort to identify priority social service needs and review applications.

The purpose of these grants is to help Juneau’s most vulnerable residents, by increasing support for nonprofit service providers in the areas of homelessness, food security, substance abuse disorders, domestic violence, suicide prevention, senior care, hospice, mental and physical health, education and income stability.

Conrad N. Hilton Foundation Awards More Than $25 Million In Grants

The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation awarded 10 grants and one program-related investment extension, totaling more than $25 million during the first quarter of 2019. These grants and the program-related investment were awarded to 11 organizations spanning across the Hilton Foundation’s program areas, both in the U.S. and internationally.

Audacious Project Awards More Than $280 Million In Grants

The Audacious Project, a philanthropic collaborative launched in April 2018 by TED, a nonprofit devoted to disseminating "ideas worth spreading," has announced grants totaling more than $280 million in support of eight initiatives.

The TED Conference -- The Audacious Project has broken last year's record and raised more than $280 million to help fund eight thrilling projects aimed at tackling some of the world's toughest challenges. Launched in April 2018 with a mission to foster "collaborative philanthropy for bold ideas," The Audacious Project is a coalition of leading organizations and individuals. It is housed at TED, the nonprofit devoted to ideas worth spreading, and operated with support from The Bridgespan Group—a leading social impact advisor to nonprofits and NGOs, philanthropists and investors. This year's eight successfully funded projects were distilled from more than 1,500 applications.

Stavros Niarchos Foundation Awards More Than $80 Million In Grants

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) approved 95 new grants totaling over $80 million. The grants were awarded in support of journalism, civic engagement, and inclusion and access efforts globally.

The Walmart Foundation is accepting applications through its Community Grant Program. Grants will be awarded to local nonprofit organizations located within the service area of individual Walmart stores in the areas of hunger relief and healthy eating, health and human services, quality of life, education, community and economic development, diversity and inclusion, public safety, and environmental sustainability.

Eligibility: Applicants must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) or (19) of the Internal Revenue Code; or a recognized government entity (state, county, or city agency, including law enforcement or fire departments) requesting funds exclusively for a public purpose; or a K-12 public or private school, charter school, community/junior college, state/private college or university; or a church or other faith-based organization with a proposed project that benefits the community at large.

The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation Has Awarded $2.7 Million In Grants

The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation has awarded sixty grants totaling $2.7 million. The grants include 33 grants totaling $981,000 in Arts, one totaling $309,500 in Education, 21 totaling $1,345,000 in Environment, and five totaling $82,500 in other areas of focus.

In its first funding round of the year, the foundation awarded grants to organizations working in the areas of the arts, environment, education, and informed communities. Recipients include the Ironbound Community Corporation in Newark, which was awarded $70,000 in support of urban greening programs and environmental stewardship initiatives; the Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center in Millville, which will receive $65,000 in support of its audience and artist engagement programming; and the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation in Princeton, which was awarded $309,500 in support of the New Jersey Teacher Fellowship Program.

The Pollock-Krasner Foundation Awards Over $3 Million In Grants

The Pollock-Krasner Foundation has awarded grants totaling more than $3.1 million to a hundred and eleven artists and twelve organizations.

Community Foundation For Southeast Michigan Awards Nearly $19 Million In Grants

The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan announced nearly $19 million in grants to organizations and initiatives primarily within southeast Michigan’s seven counties in areas including health, education, the arts, environment, youth and housing, and human services.

“From support for music education to a learning program in Detroit laundromats and a counseling program for people affected by dementia, our goal is to create permanent, positive change for residents in southeast Michigan,” said Mariam C. Noland, President, Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. “We accomplish this by partnering with communities, nonprofits, foundations, and stakeholders to implement solutions to complex issues.”
